The Wild Rivers Interpretive Center is reducing hours for the winter due to county budget cuts.  Stop in to purchase gifts, licenses and trail passes or explore the brochures and displays from 9:00am until 3:00pm Monday through Friday.  The Center is closed on Saturdays until the first Saturday of May.

Why not enjoy our recent snow fall by trying out snowshoes.  We have used snowshoes for you to try on the ¾-mile interpretive trail around our building located on the corner of US 2 and Hwy 70 (5628 Forestry Drive).  You can sign out snowshoes for free Monday through Friday between 9am and 3pm to use on our trail.

Snowshoeing is great exercise and fun for all ages.  There are 2 different sizes available depending on the depth of the snow and the weight of the user.  Stop in to select the right size and sign a waiver form.  The snowshoes must be returned to the front desk by 3pm when the center closes.

The Wild Rivers Interpretive Center offers local, regional and state level travel brochures, natural resource and historical interpretive displays, wildlife mount displays, an Up North themed gift shop and public restrooms.  The Center also provides natural resource based information and sells licenses and permits for Florence County Forestry and Parks, the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources and the federal USDA Forest Service offices that are co-located in this building.  For more information call 715-528-5377.  Or email Wendy at wgehlhoff@FlorenceCountyWI.gov.
