Keyes Peak Ski Hill in Florence is hosting a new revved up event on Saturday, March 14th:  side by side uphill truck drag racing.  Starting at 10:30am trucks from 5 states will be pitted against each other in a double elimination format – lose twice and you’re done.  Watch as all types of modified trucks some with jacked up fuels step on the gas and race to the top.  Its loud, aggressive and for a great cause:  improvements to Keyes Peak Recreation Area.  Spectator admission is $10 (kids 12 and under free).  Food and beverages sold inside the lodge and up on the hill so no carry-ins please.  Awards will be presented at 7pm in the ski lodge with the band Oz to rock the night from 8pm – 11pm.
Spectators have the choice of watching along the drag route to hear and feel the action or farther down the hill or in the warm ski lodge.  Shuttles will be provided every 15-20 minutes to and from the following spectator parking areas:  Leff’s Sports Bar (on Keyes Lake Drive side), Northern Lites (on Hwy 70/101), Annie’s Trading Post (on Keyes Lake Drive) and by text from the Great North Bank parking lot in downtown Florence.  Look for large parking signs.
Truck entry fee is $35 per class with Tech-in from 7am-9:30am.  Guaranteed $8,500 in payouts.  There are no cc motor limitations.  Classes include Stock, Super Stock, Pro Stock, Mod and Pro Mod with cash prizes and trophies given to the top 3 finishers in each class.  Mother nature is unpredictable in March.  The fastest trucks on changing snow conditions may not be easy to pick.  Get your truck ready for Motorsports Mayhem in March.  Go to Keyes Peak Uphill Drag Racing on Facebook for rules or call Ray Mills (715-889-3378) or Jordan Stanek (906-367-0652).
