November 21, 2016

Come join the festivities at the 7th Annual Christmas in Florence event on Saturday, December 3rd from 10am – 3pm. Due to the growth of this event, it has been moved to a larger venue: the Florence County High School. Enjoy a jolly time with your friends and neighbors, support your local economy and win a door prize at this free event. Are you looking for a unique, hand-crafted Christmas gift? In the gymnasium you’ll find over 70 vendors, home-based businesses, crafters and non-profits for that hard to find perfect gift. You might even get caught up in a flash-mob singing Christmas carols.

There are many other activities for young and old. Santa and Mrs. Claus arrive at 10:30am. Kids can sit on Santa’s lap and hear a story from Mrs. Claus in the hall by the cafeteria. Red and white homemade chili, brats, hot dogs, chips, drinks and homemade cookies will be for sale in the cafeteria. In the hallway past the gym, kids can create their own Christmas craft projects with help from the Florence High School volunteer TORPEDOS group. This is a very popular activity so follow the signs for crafts. And new this year, the auditorium is hosting the following performances: 11:00am the HS Jazz band, 11:45am HS Choir and Show Choir, 12:30pm FHS Drama presents “Let us tell you a Christmas Story” and at 1:30pm there will be performances by students from “The Inside Out Music Studio”.

Proceeds from this event fund a variety of Chamber of Commerce projects including a scholarship. This event is FREE with many door prizes!
