5th Annual Christmas in Florence December 6th
Florence, WI…… Come join the festivities at the 5th Annual Christmas in Florence event on Saturday, December 6th from 11am – 4pm. Enjoy a jolly time with your friends and neighbors, support your local economy, and win a door prize. Buy unique Christmas gifts from over 40 vendors, businesses, crafters and non-profits at the Christmas Shopping Bazaar in the Community Center and Fire Hall from 11 am – 4pm.
In addition to shopping, there are many other activities for young and old. Bring your snow pants and boots to play in the manmade snow courtesy of the Keyes Peak Ski Hill Committee. The Woodworks Chainsaw Carvers will once again carve two large ice sculptures during the day. Sit on Santa’s lap to take a picture or share your Christmas list. Santa will be arriving at 11:30 at the Community Center. Listen to stories from Mrs. Claus. Kids can create their own Christmas craft project with help from the Florence High School TORPEDOS group. The cozy horse drawn wagon rides through town are always a big hit thanks to the First National Bank of Niagara sponsorship. Three different varieties of chili will be sold at the Community Center as well as hot dogs, Christmas cookies, coffee and hot chocolate with proceeds funding Chamber of Commerce projects. The FHS Jazz Band will perform at 1 pm followed by the FHS Show Choir at 1:45 in the Encore on Central Ballroom. The day ends at 4 pm with the Community Tree Lighting Ceremony where local clergy offer a blessing followed by a candlelight singing of Silent Night as the trees are lit. Our official tree lighter this year is Carter Reed, who is five years old. This event is FREE with many door prizes! For more information click on the event at www.ExploreFlorenceCounty.com.
