Florence, WI…… At Keyes Peak Winterfest on Saturday March 2nd, you pay only $15/person for a whole day of skiing, snowboarding or tubing. This price includes your lift ticket, rental equipment and the chance to take part in other fun family activities. The event starts at 11:00am and the lift ticket is good until hill closing at 9:00pm. This is a family value you cannot pass up. Proceeds from Winterfest will be used by the Keyes Peak Ski Hill Committee for ski hill improvements and equipment. This event is sponsored by the Florence County Chamber of Commerce, Florence County Forestry & Parks and the Keyes Peak Ski Hill Committee.

Keyes Peak Ski Hill is located 4 miles south of Florence on Hwy 101. Its sculpted tubing run has possibly the best vertical drop in our region so non-skiers can satisfy the need for speed too. Keyes Peak offers runs for beginner, intermediate and expert skiers and snowboarders plus rails and jumps for the thrill seekers among us. The lodge is made from 12-22 inch red pine logs harvested from the Florence County Forest. It’s a great place to warm-up, relax, play some games, make new friends and have some refreshments. Did you know you can rent this beautiful facility after ski season for weddings and parties? You can rent it for a private group ski party during season too.

Winterfest features family-friendly activities throughout the day from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm. New this year is the one-of-a-kind Snowshoe Potato Race from 12-2pm. For this timed event, you must return with a cookie cutter imprint in your potato from each station on the trail: snowshoes are provided. If you’ve never tried snowshoeing before, you can learn how on one of the scheduled group hikes for beginners at 12, 1, 2 and 3pm. We have a variety of snowshoes to try. The Human Bowling event is a perennial favorite for all ages from 12-3pm. Participants tube down a portion of the ski hill to knock down “bowling pins” - helmets are provided. Or why not enter the Snow Art Contest from 12-2pm and let your imagination run wild. Participants are encouraged to bring their own supplies to create a more unique snowperson or other snow item. Don’t miss the Slalom Ski Races from 2-4pm. Test your skiing or snowboarding skill on our custom designed course. Top finishers receive prizes.
