In a nutshell we facilitate job growth by:
  • Helping current businesses find resources/money to succeed and grow
  • Guiding new entrepreneurs to resources, business loans and site options
  • Attracting new businesses to grow a cluster or fill a local void
Location: The Economic Development office is in the lower level Room 134 of the historic 1889 Florence County Courthouse on 501 Lake Ave, 1 block south of US 2 in downtown Florence.

Office Hours: 8:30am-4pm but it's best to call or email for an appointment because meetings
and appointments take me away from my office at times.

Fair Housing Ordinance:
Florence County adopted a Fair Housing Ordinance based on Wisconsin Statutes Section 106.50 on 7/17/2001.  Ordinances can be viewed at the County Clerk’s office in the Courthouse at 501 Lake Ave in Florence. This Ordinance guarantees equal housing opportunity to all Americans and helps provide access to affordable housing for all people, regardless of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, age, sexual orientation, ancestry, marital status, handicapped, income or family status.  Discrimination is not allowed in the sale or rental of housing or residential lots, in advertising the sale or rental of housing, in the financing of housing, in the provision of real estate brokerage services or in the appraisal of housing.  Blockbusting is also illegal. Any person aggrieved by an unlawful practice prohibited by this Ordinance may file a complaint with the County Clerk, Donna Trudell, 715-528-3201.  Or federally by calling 800-669-9777.
