After a year’s delay, Keyes Peak Summerfest & Pig Roast returns for the 29th year on Saturday, August 4th from Noon – 11pm at Keyes Lake Park 3 miles south of Florence on Hwy 101. This event helps fund equipment and other improvements at Keyes Peak Ski Hill. Where else can you hear 3 live bands, eat some awesome food, catch up with old friends and watch fireworks all on the shores of a beautiful lake. Summerfest admission is $8, 62 and older only $5 and 12 and under are free and so is parking. There are many free kids’ games and for a $5 wristband, unlimited access to Jakes Jumpers Bounce House, Jousting and Obstacle Course inflatables from Green Bay. All day food items include Rochon’s porketta, rotisserie chicken, burgers, brats and many sides. The roasted pig usually comes off the spit at 1pm. Beverages for sale on site so no carry-ins please. Bring your suit to go swimming at Keyes Lake beach. Grab your friends to play mini-golf across the highway at Keyes Lake Campground. Bring a chair to watch the bands all day. The Steenos play from Noon-3pm, The Cadillacs from Escanaba bring back the best of the 60’s music from 3pm-7pm and the local favorite OZ performs Classic Rock and many new and older fan favorites from 7pm-11pm. Fireworks over the lake are planned for dusk. The Menominee Range Gliders are hosting a Glow in the Dark Tournament after the fireworks starting near the Keyes Peak Ski Lodge.
